🇨🇦 A name inspired by Canada

The Story Behind loonie

The idea for loonie comes from something that has always felt very Canadian to us: the Common Loon. You can find this bird on lakes across Canada, and its call is one of those sounds that stays with you.

A simple idea, with Canadian roots

We chose the name loonie because it felt friendly and easy to remember. It also gave us a way to connect the app to Canada without making the name complicated. The loon is a familiar part of the Canadian landscape, and we liked the character it brings to the name.

loonie started with a simple idea: make numbers easier to understand by letting people hear them spoken aloud. Whether you're using English or French, the goal is to make that everyday task a little easier.

We believe useful tools can be simple. loonie is our way of putting that idea into practice.

Made in Canada, for everyday use.
